PATROL LEADER

Job Description

When you accept the position of Patrol Leader, you agree to

  • Provide service and leadership in your troop
  • Live by the Scout Oath and Law
  • Show Scout spirit

Duties: Must meet 6 out of 8 requirements

  1. Plan and lead patrol meetings and activities
    (3/4 months for Star, 4/6 for Life, and 5/6 for Eagle)
  2. Keep patrol members informed
  3. Represent the patrol at all Patrol Leaders' Council meetings and the annual program planning conference
    (3/4 PLC for Star, 4/6 for Life, 5/6 for eagle)
  4. Prepare the patrol to take part in all Troop activities
    (Patrol leader must attend 75% of Troop Meetings)
    (Patrol leader must attend 3/4 campouts for Star, 4/6 for Life, and 5/6 for Eagle )
  5. Develop patrol spirit (flag, patch, song/yell)
  6. Know what Patrol members and other leaders can do
    Everyone needs a position in patrol
  7. Encourage patrol members to advance
    (For 2nd and 1st year patrols 75% of members must advance 1 rank,
    50% must advance 2 ranks, or 25% must make it to First Class)
    *Note: Scout does not count as rank.
    . For 3rd year and higher, 50% of patrol members must earn 50 % or
    more of requirements for next rank
