This outing is essential for new scouts who have joined Troop 200. This outing will be completely devoted to First Class Rank Emphasis items. In addition to reinforcing the patrol method What is a Patrol? and solid camping skills; the boys will be training through boy lead stations on First aid, map & compass, orienteering, fire building fireman chit , stoves, cooking, lashings, native plants, wildlife identification and knife and axe safety Totin Chip. All scouts bring your books!
All scouts will arrive in uniform at the Church. All scouts attending must have a Class 1 Medical form to attend this outing. Scouts will not be permitted to bring cell phones, electronic devices including Gameboys, iPods etc.… Please leave these items at home. Leaders and adults will have cell phones for emergency purposes.
We will be outdoors all weekend, so be prepared. Bring rain gear and dress appropriately. It is suggested to bring change of clothes in a 2 gallon zip lock bag. Troop 200 requires a full Class “A” uniform for all Board of Reviews. Troop 200 is committed to making sure that all scouts needing financial assistance with a uniform will be covered. Please see any leader for details.
Bring your scout books! Protective covers are suggested or place in a plastic bag. Place your name in it!
Suggested items the boys may want to consider bringing are (not inclusive): Camping checklist Always bring a water bottle. Place the scout’s name on everything!
Directions for adult drivers: Scouts will travel to Dorral Farm http://www.dorralfarm.com/directions.php From Interstate 270, take Route 33 North. Exit at Scottslawn Road and turn right. The Troop will need registered adult leaders, and committee personnel to assist in conducting field Boards of Review. The Troop will also need adult drivers to assist in transporting the boys to the campsite. Any adult attending will be required to be BSA youth protection trained BSA Youth Protection.
