High Adventure Coordinator
The High Adventure Coordinator serves to plan Scouting experiences that are considered higher adventure and higher risk and are generally for older and more experienced Scouts. These are commonly known as High Adventure experiences. In cooperation with the Troop Committee and youth leadership, the High Adventure Coordinator recommends and promotes these experiences including adventures to BSA National High Adventure locations such as Philmont Scout Reservation, Florida Seabase, and Northern Tier Canoe Base. Localized high adventures including Frontier Camp and council programs such as those conducted at Camp Oyo are also organized and promoted. The High Adventure Coordinator orients and trains new adult leaders on the skills, responsibilities, requirements, and certifications for planning, leading, and executing these experiences.
