Committee Chair

The daily functions of a Boy Scout Troop are overseen by a committee comprised of trained, adult leaders and parents.  The Committee Chair presides over the committee meetings and ensures that well trained parents and leaders are secured to fill necessary Adult Leader leadership roles.  The Committee Chair is actually the last point of responsibility for the Scout Troop and reports directly to the paid District Executive as decided by the Boy Scouts of America.

The Committee Chair’s role, in association with the Charter Organization Representative, is to serve as a liaison with the charter organization (NW United Methodist Church for Troop 200) and promotes District and Council events to the Troop.  Finally, the responsibility of the Troop Committee is to provide the resources necessary for the Scouts to have a safe place to meet, safe equipment to use for Scouting events, and trained leaders who will guide and instruct them in the ways of Scouting.
